The 159th Scottish Highland Gathering & Games, held Labor Day Weekend at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, is California’s longest-running and largest Scottish cultural festival. Since 1866, this beloved event has brought together families, clans, athletes, musicians, dancers, pipers, and drummers in a lively celebration of Scottish heritage. Highlights include the U.S. and Women’s Heavy Athletics Championships, traditional Highland dancing, piping & drumming competitions, live music, whisky tastings, and exhibitions such as birds of prey and living history.
